Gear sources and Sponsorship

In the spring of 2011 I was approached by Markhorclimbing.com to become an official "Sponsored Average Climber." Being of average ability, I accepted.
As a Sponsored Average Climber I write trip reports and gear reviews for Markhorclimbing.com, receive promotional gear at their discretion, and get this cool badge on my website.

I also receive gear and perks from Columbia clothing, as a member of the #OmniTen, and Eastern Mountain Sports and various other companies. These companies have made it clear that I do not have to write a positive review of their stuff, or even a review at all. I am committed to honest story telling, both about my life and about the gear that I review.
I will never review a piece of gear that has not gone through extensive testing. Because of that I may be posting about last year's stuff, or about something that has already been around for a while. If it's quality, though, it's worth the wait.
