Welcome to Campfire 2011!

This fall women in the outdoor community are invited to Boulder, Colorado for three days of networking, learning, and playing outside. The Campfire 2011 "unconference" is an event designed to bring together kickass women interested in the outdoor industry and build a network that will help us strengthen our personal and professional pursuits.
Not in the outdoor industry full time? Perfect! Campfire is the place where those of us with a serious interest in OR can meet and learn about current trends in the industry, share ideas with industry leaders, learn from those who've transitioned into OR full time, and build a network of supportive women who share our goals and interests. The potential is limitless!

What is Campfire 2011?
Campfire is a place for all women interested in the outdoor industry, outdoor sports, and healthy living to come together to share ideas, network, and seed change in the women’s outdoor world.
Your ideas run the conference, your voice is the theme and action is our goal.
Half the weekend will be spent making plans to change the world, the other will be spent playing out in it, strengthening our newly formed community.
Do I have to be a woman to come?
Nope! But be prepared to focus on female specific topics! The man faint of heart need not apply.
What is an “unconference”?
An unconference is an non-traditional style of meeting organization. Sessions are not scheduled in advance, rather attendees decide what they would like to discuss throughout the day, allowing conversations and networks to evolve organically. In the morning and after lunch a blank schedule is posted and we will fill it with what we’ve prepared and what’s on our mind.

What? I have to actively participate?
Yep! That’s how it works. But we aren’t worried. If you are coming to this conference you are already a mover and shaker (or want to be!) Here your enthusiasm is welcome and expected!
When and where is it?
No sooner than September 2011, in Boulder, CO where we can spend a day playing outside. That’s all we can give you at the moment. Have a suggestion for time and location? Please pass it on!
